Mobilise the NHS 2016
Application deadline 31st October
Friday 18th November 2016 & Thursday 5th January 2017 Central Manchester
Mobilise the NHS brings together NHS clinical staff and small digital companies to jointly design software applications that solve clinical and care problems.
NorthWest based digital SMEs with an interest in healthcare are invited to send small teams of 2-3 people to join the GMAHSN in central Manchester for two days working up ideas for new apps with hospital clinicians from Salford Royal Foundation Trust.
Small digital businesses are often at the cutting edge of software innovation, and the NHS needs their ideas and originality. Salford Royal FT and GMAHSN are keen to support NorthWest small businesses in engaging with the NHS, and to help NHS staff learn more about software development.
Four suggestions have been selected that will improve care in Salford and can be of use in the wider NHS to take forward as challenges to the ‘Mobilise the NHS’ days:
• Stroke care
• Supporting patients in self-care
• Improving communication during clinical consultations
• Rheumatoid Arthritis care
There will be clinical staff representing each of these challenges at both of the events.
At the first of the two days, each digital company will be paired with hospital staff representing one of the challenges. This provides an opportunity to work together to understand the problems, and to develop ideas for an application. There will also be speakers during the day talking about NHS procurement and the NHS IT landscape.
Promising teams of developers and hospital staff will be invited to return for a second day to expand ideas, get support to develop business plans and receive guidance on sources of funding.
Please send applications with the subject line ‘Mobilise the NHS’ to firstname.lastname@example.org by 31st October 2016. In your application state who you are, what sort of applications you currently develop, and whether you have any particular interest in any of the four challenges. You will be notified by 4th November 2016 as to whether you have a place.
